Welcome
I would like to thank you for your interest in Hopewell Independent Baptist Church. I am excited about what the Lord is doing and would love for you and your family to visit. We are an Old Fashioned, Bible-believing, missionary-minded Church located at the foot of Glassy Mountain. I am Pastor Michael Pittman, married to Alicia Pittman, and have been serving the Lord together for 36 years. On April 21, 2013, The Hopewell Baptist Church family extended the call to be Pastor of the congregation. Through these years we have seen God move miraculously through salvation and changing of lives. We cannot begin to tell you all that the Lord is doing at Hopewell Baptist Church. We invite you and your family to come worship with us.
Doctrine and Beliefs
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the King James Version. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 We believe in the Holy Trinity. God The Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. We believe that Salvation is in Jesus Christ by Grace. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Ephesians 2:8 & 9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” 2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."”
